Tony,

Unbelievable - there really is one born every minute.

I love the way the koolaid kidz say they have "$120,000 of built in equity" because they are buying below some overinflated appriasal. That's not equity, dahlings, that's delusion. I wonder what % of the NRU grads are using overingflated stated income loans, stacking purchases so fast they get them through before they hit their credit report, and claimed they would be owner occupied.

And what sort of low end twits don't realize that "nouveau riche" is an insult. These people are not just stupid, they're tacky and stupid.

Ah Hah....
So it was Chris Record of NRU that taught KC how to make money in a Bull or Bear real estate market. I'll bet Chris Record is proud of his "star pupil".

Anonymous said...

Don't forget gang. Today is Steak&BJ day:) I suspect snowflake will be getting neither..haha

What's the admissions process for NRU? Is it difficult to get in? Do they require an essay? I scored a 680 on my SAT, think that'll get me in?

Rob Dawg said...

Weird, I scored 680 on my SAT as well. [The English part.]

I just read that discussion thread & don't know whether to laugh or be ill. How any Caseys did they produce?

@Nigel:

For the sake of full disclosure and since you’ve posted my name for all to see.
I’m not sure what you did is illegal but I know it’s unethical. For a guy brokering loans, I’m certain that makes for bad business. I’m sure the folks at Integrity First Financial must love all the pub you’re getting.

Most of the info you gave out was correct although all of the Craven posts are not mine. The mistake I made was early on reading a couple posts of yours that actually made sense. I’m not sure you are smart enough to realize this but you can post under any name on Casey’s site. Pick a name and it’s yours. Heck, some of your better material probably wasn’t even you now that I think about it.

And since I’m the VP of Finance of our company, I’m allowed to be bored on occasion and gee, I’m even allowed to take five whenever I want. Heck, if I can find the posts that I saved that Casey didn’t pass, I’ll send them to you. You’ll really enjoy those.

Not that it’s any of your business but I do feel like you’ve put me in a position where I should defend my name to the guys on Rob’s site. I’m a CPA and CMA with about 20 years of experience. Ten with the same company. About 2 million in real estate with less than half that in notes. And they cash flow positive after paying a professional to manage (Casey keyword = outsource). And yes, I put 20% down with 30 years amortization on all of them. The highest rate I have is 6.25%. So I know a lot about the business even though it’s not my livelihood. I can sniff out an idiot even if in your case, it took a little longer than it should have.

And to the folks on EN, I do appreciate the fact that you didn’t post my name over from looser’s site. Nigel did say one thing right (transparency). And I cringe just thinking my name may come up in the same sentence as him or Casey.

It’s all good though! J

Anonymous said...

Doug,

So did you impersonate Nigel on Casey's site or not? That's the key question.

Anonymous said...

But Nigel ISN'T transparent. He hides anonymously while posting and trolling on people like Steph, Rob, Legion and others that have his number.

I see Nigel as worse than Casey in so many ways.

Anonymous said...

See he just posted again!

Anonymous said...

LOL @ 11:15.

Nigel, trouble heads your way.

Anonymous said...

And that "J" is supposed to be a smiley face.

Trolls don't bother me at all. An attention whore like myself thrives on that energy, baby.

The Salt Lake Real Estate blog is written by licensed mortgage broker and real estate investor Nigel Swaby. "I've been in the real estate business for four years and just love it," says Swaby. "Being in the business, I see a lot of people with misconceptions about real estate and sometimes being downright deceived. I created this blog to help people interested in real estate in Salt Lake City," he continued.

Anonymous said...

If he created the blog for people interested in SLC RE, why so much time spent on Casey? The average buyer won't care about the Casey story outside of just plain disgust.

Anonymous said...

Nigel's post on his blog about first time homebuyers is filled with inaccuracies and mistakes. Even his followup comment trying to explain some of it contains errors.

Looser.

One of the little life lessons you pick up along the way:

Anybody who makes a big selling point about how ethical they are or how much integrity they have ... is most likely neither. Truly honest people don't need to advertise the fact.

Anonymous said...

Nigel is a coward.

He doesn't even have the imagination to debate or argue like an honorable person, and instead hits below the belt and does what he did in that cowardly fashion. Just because he's not smart enough or clever enough to formulate a good reply.

It shows a smallness of character to do what he did to Craven. But he also proves all us 'haters' right... that he's a teeny-weenie little man with a complex the size of Montana. He comes here and invokes schoolyard tactics just to feel better about himself--spewing misguided, unjustifiably smug statements. He can't resist. If he was so above it all, he wouldn't set 'foot' in EN. But we hurt his widdle feewings every day.

I feel sorry for Nigel. He must be a very sad, sad person.

Casey and Nigel deserve eachother.

Anonymous said...

As a "licensed mortgage broker and real estate investor Nigel Swaby", doesn't he have to have approval for public dissemination of information? I know that in other states, "licensed mortgage brokers" have to get approval from compliance for ANY type of information released to the public, much less hosting a website without ANY disclosure statements. He is giving out financial, banking, and real estate advice with no disclaimers. Does he even HAVE approval from his employer to do so?

Food for thought.

Anonymous said...

Good point Anon 12:09.

If Doug sent an email to Nigel saying how he agreed with something written on the SLC blog, doesn't posting his info violate privacy rules?

After all Nigel says his blog is about RE matters in SLC. His license is in RE matters for the state of Utah. If I write him an email and say good job but later on post a jokey comment about him on a blog does that give Nigel the right to divulge an email like that?

He's walking a fine line regarding ethics here. Fine, whatever happened with that post on IAFF is one thing, but why not be a bigger man and say funny, haha and move on?

If Nigel was truly a bigger man, he'd send a private email BEFORE outing Craven and asking that he never do that again. But most of us know he logs in as Nigel and has never posted any other way.

If he's so mad why not yell at Casey for not noticing the difference?

Anonymous said...

Since the pendulum has swung back to Nigel's unpleasantness, I hope you don't mind me re-posting something from this morning (for those just tuning in).

Nigel dragged up someone's personal information and work email with the thinly veiled threat of 'what does their boss think.' You know- the adult loser version of "my dad can beat up your dad."

If anyone truly thinks there is a problem with his honesty & competency, here is something from the folks who oversee Utah's mortgage broker licenses...

"If you have a complaint relating to the honesty and competency of one of the Division’s licensees, please complete the form below and submit your complaint to the Division by fax, ,mail or in person. Please also submit all documentation that supports the complaint."
http://realestate.utah.gov/enforcement.html

Rob Dawg said...

Nota Bene: If anyone ever sends me an email it would at the very least take a court order before I would CONSIDER sharing. Then I would reject.

Make no mistake, I have Casey emails, executive emails, client emails. This is not a recent policy. Rest easier.

Wait, there were 2 parts to the SAT? No wonder I got done so quickly and everyone looked at me funny as I was leaving. At first I laughed that it took others a few hours to complete, when mine took 30 minutes. Damn.

Anonymous said...

Two points to ponder:

As far as posting advice, etc. on his blog vs. being a licensed broker - different states vary but it would depend on exactly what he posts and how it's interpreted.

On the releasing personal information, I think it would depend on what the original communication between them was, if it related to Nigel's role as a licensed broker, and if there was any confidentiality implied.

Someone would have to decide if his blog is related to his job/license and if the communication is covered by privacy/non disclosure requirements of the state.

P.S. Don't forget to clean your ears.

Anybody who makes a big selling point about how ethical they are or how much integrity they have ... is most likely neither.

Tony Blair being a classic case in point. I think he may well be the sleaziest Prime Minister Britain has ever had (he's certainly the only one to have been grilled by the police twice while still in office) and yet he was elected in the first place on the back of a promise to be squeaky-clean.

In fact, Blair reminds me of Casey (and vice versa) in quite a few ways. Blair is obviously much brighter and infinitely more streetwise, but he has the same wide-eyed "it's all good!" optimism. And, like Casey, I'm not sure if he really believes it himself, but he certainly thinks we all do. Or at least that we all should.

i don't understand.

if these grads of nru are already inflating their networths from 50k to 550k (by 500k), why would they want to waste their time trolling (and authoring) websites to earn a few measly Ks from new students when they could put their $16k "education" to work and get more Millions™?

Look at all those idiots going right up to the wire to hand in their tax returns! I handed mine in over a year ago!

Rob Dawg said...

Wait, there were 2 parts to the SAT?

These days there are THREE.

In my time, there were two, 6 sections, two scores 800 each, 1600 max. I got in about 11 seconds before the door was closed and two math sections were the first two of three in my packet. The second half was equally supposed to be symeterically two English and a math. Got screwed. All three were English and one was "experimental" English. Thus my two wrong answers in the previous Math sections were enough to bring me down to a modest 710.

Probalby served me well as it induced a level of humility that Casey never learned.

Anonymous said...

Not really sure where this belongs so I will just post it here.

Casey is a Fucktard.

This guy is not:

http://www.my334442debt.com/

He screwed up but appears to be working his ass off to get out of a bad situation.

Being honest, eating ramen, paying what he can, talking to his lenders etc...

Too bad our FFF is such an fucktard.

Anonymous said...

PS oh yeah, he is WORKING as well.

That's right Casey, he's got MONEY coming in instead of just borrowing more! What a quaint idea.

Anonymous said...

Another 334442 guy/Casey difference:

"Also, Wellsfargo auto-drafted a payment from my checking account to my line of credit with them. That kinda sucks, but I figured it would happen eventually. I do need to make a payment on my Wells business line sometime soon."

UGH.
Taxes.

Can't I just pull a Casey and develop the ability to selectively 'forget' about them?

Anonymous said...

Yeah, it would be great for Casey to announce that he is in "IRS-ignore mode".

The linked thread is nauseating -- the posters most enthusiastic about NRU are also the ones most actively soliciting for referrals.

As for Chris:

You can read my full perspective on Nouveau Riche at www.chrisrecord.com

I see: "complete perspective" really means "sales pitch".

Similarly, "complete scholarship" really means "sweet referral fees".

Um, question.

Is Chris Record making more money from NRU or from actual real estate transactions (realized profits, not net income bullsh!t)?
