John v. Nigel: TKO

My thanks to John and the other 'watchdawgs' for tracking down barking, and ultimately treeing that wily critter Nigel. For those not following the story so far;
Nigel Swaby got the taste of Casey's attention and got hooked. He's tried for months to hijack parts of the discussion to his own SLCblog. People would visit, declare it lame and either never visit again, go back few times to call it lame or in several cases get really pissed and whenever he active linked in other forums preempt his lameness. Ahhhh, but with Casey, now there was mudhole where everybody seemed to be wallowing dirty pigs. He'd fit right in. So like any good attention whore Nigel set up 'Donthatecasey" to build traffic and audience to feed his addiction. Problem is it turns out that it wasn't the SLCblog that was lame, it is NIGEL. Clue Deficit Disorder of the first order. Yesterday poor little Nigel tried to post abot the economic fallacy of zero sum as it applied to Casey. His conclusion? Casey's antics have hurt no one. Well, you can imagine how that went down with the dawgpack and that's where John and the others come in. We owe them thanks. They used logic and reason and probing inquiry to call Nigel a lamer without triggering NIGEL'S censorship. I can only hope these lessons stick. Yeah right, anyway let's do what we are good at. one or two can visit and post excerpts here where ou can call a turd a turd and have fun doing it. Again, thanks all.

From Nigel's comments, a new "player" emerges:

joshhoughton.blogspot.com

He touts his "friend"....Snowflake himself.

Would a few Haterz (tm) pay this fuckwit a visit and show him the cost of friendship? LOL

This weiner sandwich leases TRUE pos houses to lowlife. I wonder if he carries a murse?

Anonymous said...

I'm supposed to be working already, so I quickly scanned the josh houghton blog without reading anything in depth.

His review of THE SECRET and his trumpeting of his own Christianity jumped out at me. Maybe I'll go back later and read it. Probably not.

Is this the same guy who caught some internet shit a few months ago when he deliberately kept a tenant's damage deposit "because he could"?

Anonymous said...

The john houghton blog has so many grammatical errors that he loses credibility.

Someone beep me in a few weeks when knobnuts anwsers on his second blog.

Whatever happened to Super Motivation Brian?

Here are a couple of WINNERS that really know how to game the system. They should start a blog and have their own guru webcast. Obviously, they know how to squeeze a lot more out of a property than Snowflake.

Dumb & Dumberer

Why did I even work these past 5 years??? I could have racked $1M in a fraudulent housing ATM scheme(s). Hell, with my good credit and money I already had saved, make it $2M. Then I put the money in the stock market, with some half way decent investing tripled it, which wouldn't have been hard in the latest 5yr period. Taken the $6M off shore and never looked back.

Maybe if I tithed enough and espoused my christian beliefs on the Net, my conscience wouldn't bother me so much sipping a cold one on a secluded beach in Costa Rica.

Or I could just coffee can the money and wait for Senator Dodd to bail me out.

It is truly an alternative universe we are living in now.

If Casey went through with his live call and actually answered questions, I think he deserves a week vacation. His 1 live call would equate out to like 5 months on steady work for him.

Rob, how are you coming on the CNBC challenge? I made a few bad mistakes and took a beating.

Anonymous said...

The guy talking about keeping the deposit was Phillip something. He is comment #166 on Snowflake's 'Going to be #1' post.

I have replied over there, calling him out on that deposit fiasco. Here is what I posted:

@166 Phillip:

Aren't you the guy who was going to keep a tenant's damage deposit even though
there was no damage 'because that is the current trend'?

"I'm sorry to say that they will not get their security deposit anyway because
that is the current trend - take the tenants security deposit too. I know it
seems mean, but it happens to every renter, just ask them."

Why is this relevant? Because that is pure Caseyspeak. That's the reason
Casey gave for why he did all his owner occ and stated income fraud. Yes, I
know you eventually gave it back but how you could even consider screwing
someone over like that because your buddies were bragging about it is beyond
me. Basically, while not necessarily comparing you to Casey, you heard some
things from some 'advisors' and although knowing it was wrong, were about to do
it anyway. Plain and simple, it's pure business. Damage = keep some deposit.
No damage = give back deposit.

At least you didn't revise your blog Casey does revisions like that also.

abot the economic fallacy of zero sum as it applied to Casey.
--------------------------------

zero sum is NOT an economic fallacy; it is a setting where cooperation does not improve the aggregate standing of a group (e.g., commodities futures -- every $1 you earn is a $1 lost by someone else).

Now, zero-sum can be misapplied to cases where the setting is truly cooperative (where players cooperating can improve the aggregate outcome of the group. For example, "prisoner's dilemma" (a real game), where the "less stable" but more "profitable" of the 2 Nash Equilibria can be achieved if players agree to cooperate.

who called zero-sum a fallacy? If it were you Bob Dawg, I shall pardon the error out of respect. If it is Nigel, well, maybe we can get Real Estate Carnival to take back the bronze medal they gave his blog.... :-)

it's all good. sigh.

Rob Dawg said...

The phrase needs to be taken en toto: "the economic fallacy of zero sum as it applied to Casey." There, does that help? There are lots of zero sum situations, this just isn't one of them. You are also correct that it is misunderstood and misapplied more often than not.

Want me to put up a post where we can discuss Coase's theorem and why it is wrong? It's always a good time when a lowlife amateur like me takes on a Nobel.

Nigel just deleted someone's post over there at 'We Love Snowflake'. Can't remember what was in that one.

mea culpa. read things too fast. You are right, this is not zero-sum.
yeah, I'm interested in your take on Coase's theorem. I've had graduate microeconomics.

Hmm, only at EN nation would a discussion on prisoner's dilemma lead to a discussion on economic theory.
I will leave the Snowflake and Bubba jokes to others.

Calling Zero Sum a fallacy is like saying the law of conservation of matter/energy is a crock.

It's freaking simple: in order for someone to receive a dollar someone must lose or give away a dollar.

Once a dollar leaves your hands, it does not cease to exist...

those ppl make me want to go into convulsions.

Looks like sock fucking snowflake is going all out tonight and spilling all the secrets. And it looks like G quit school to get a job. WTF? did Casey FINALLY get a clue? I am geting pretty tempted to listen in tonight.

Anonymous said...

@ Casey

Yeah. I knew someone would bring that up. I didn't really want to write several paragraphs. There are a few cases where the model becomes much more complicated.

The nutshell of it being that the fed can create a dollar. However it is not out of thin air. In fact, every dollar that is created by the fed results in a fraction of a dollar being spent (think labor, machinery, etc. among other things when we are talking about a "physical dollar"). The difference in this cost trickles down the chain and usually finds its zero sum in the cost of inflation. Hence, the reason the fed does not magically create several trillion dollars at the drop of a hat.

At a macro level, in this case, zero sum holds true. The reason we do not see this effect daily is because we operate in a non-efficient monetary market. So on a local model, the way we see zero sum is as the driver of correction as the non-efficient market seeks zero-sum equilibrium.

Friends,

Do not read Josh Houghton's blog. I have just made the mistake of reading his 'review' of 'the secret'. I believe Josh may be 16 years old.

Good day.

The Secret

"How this is done is a little confusing for some people to understand. Let me see if I can clarify this just a little. Basically the laws of Quantum physics state that everything is made up of energy. The trees, cars, houses, your pets and last but not least us. Science has proven that every thought has a frequently and that technically speaking we are nothing more than chucks of energy vibrating very fast at certain frequently. When we align our thoughts to the frequently..."

"Many people have made claims that the secret has changed their lives in amazing ways. Things such as ... parking spots.... Is this the law of attraction at work? Or is it something else that we don’t yet understand."

"I have actually done some research on this subject and have also discovered that most of the stuff talked about in the secret is actually rooted in the teachings of the bible."

"A vital part of the law of attraction is that when an inspired thought comes to you then you must take action. I agree that the people behind the secret didn’t address this issue enough in the DVD, but that is what sequels are for."

"Weather you believe in the law of attraction or not is totally up to you and if you don’t then that is fine. Technically any time you think you are using the law of attraction."

"For instance my dream car was a 2001 Toyota Celica and at the time I drove a 2001 Chevy cavalier. I always believed in the power of goals and knew if I focused enough on my car it would come to me.

...

I then went online and looked at Celica’s for sale. I would print them out and cut them out and hang them on my wall.

...

The funny thing is I didn’t have the money to get one. Huh!

...

[My Dad] started complaining about driving my brother all around because he didn’t have a car.

...

Well the Celica I wanted was only around $12,000 and because my dad would take over my old car payments. I could now afford my dream car."

It isn't a zero sum game if new wealth is created. However, with housing, no new wealth was created.

That is an interesting link on Nigels be nice to casey board.I dont know why Freddie Mercury (Nigel)thinks the fed meeting is so important (i mean it is is your a bond trader) or looking to lock a mortgage rate. I like the Shirmeyer report. I try too look at it every day. Caylx web site has a free link to it.

Rob Dawg said...

anon 11:06,
I disagree. Real Estate is integral to any economy. Even flipping can generate productive results. Market activity just by itself stimulates and induces the creation of goods and provision of services. When I install whole-house digital networking is that not a productive activity that generates wealth?

anon 11:13,
Nigel is a babe in the woods. He doesn't understand the nuance and undercurrent. The Fed meeting is scripted and the script was leaked weeks if not months ago. Nothing will happen beyond a few hints that one or two more Govs have leaned towards tightening.

R-Boy said...

Rob,

Word that I have is that we're looking at a rate drop regardless of inflationary pressures if the trend towards recession continues.

I have not heard of what's going on at today's meeting, but I do not expect anything to change. They can't raise rates because of recession fears, and they can't lower them because they don't want to stop the housing correction.

Anonymous said...

Nothing will happen today. No raise, no drop. Not at this moment at least.

Someone needs to test out Casey's plan to provide advice and services to people in a bad financial situation. It shouldn't be too hard to find enough convincing details about a distressed property, create a disposable email account, and come up with a good, convincing story to suck Casey in.

I'd be fascinated to see if he actually responds, and what sort of "advice" he offers. Is he really going to try to birddog sweet deals for his new referral network, or is it all just hot air?

Rob Dawg said...

R-Boy,
You must know sumptin' I don't 'cause way I hear it the Fed protects the dollar and against inflation. They also make no bones about repeating that they do not give a crap about asset bubbles, even the ones they create. A US interest rate cut at this point would crush the USD on the markets against almost everything except the AUS, EUR and Yuan. IMO that triggers a worldwide recession as flows of funds slow and everyone gets defensive. It would probalby hasten the delinking of several EUR currencies as well but that's far too esoteric to discuss here.

Sorry for the flurry of unrelated postings, but it's lunchtime at my looser 9-5 cubicle job.

Washington Mutual's mortage unit continues to take a pounding. The company as a whole is still modestly profitable in part due to some layoffs and in part because the income from retail banking offsets the mortgage losses, but it's anyone's guess whether that will continue as subprime continues to spiral down the drain. The company is already described as "struggling" in news reports. Wells Fargo is similarly exposed, and announce 500 layoffs in its subprime mortgage division today.

If things continue to slide, could failing mortgage divisions in either company put the retail banking side at risk? At what point should depoistors start to worry?

Anonymous said...

@Ogg

Say hi to Id
I dont see Wells Fargo getting into to much trouble. Everyone knows they are"conservetive" in there subprime. If there is such a thing. I think the bigest defaults are from people putting mortgage money in there pockets not jane and john doe with fucked up credit actualy living in the houses. Wells fargo is also real tough on appraisals. I am near the scary indiana ooops I mean gary indiana market. I talked to a rep today from Encore and they have stopped lending in gary. You cant do a fucking appraisal because every comp is a past fraud. You should see the deal New century did in gary......all of them 65 - 75k sellers probably taking 25k realtors company taking 25k When I say something I am the big racist

R-Boy said...

@@Rob

I may. The Fed dropped their talking about raising interest rates in the future. Raising rates would be counter-intuitive given the slowdown in the economy, it would likely accelerate the credit crisis we are all aware of.

I want to point this out to each of you. The market is slowing down. We are talking recession. And inflation is not going away. I hope there's a few of you here who were around the last time this happened.

Tightening up credit exacerbates a downturn. I can point to Freidman's "Monetary History" and the Fed's actions which pushed the country over a cliff in something we call the Great Depression.

Bernanke is an inflation hawk, but he's a smart man as well.

It is, in my opinion likely we will see a rate cut towards september, october, assuming inflation starts to abate. If it doesn't abate, well...buy gold, or something.

----END RANT, GOT A QUESTION----
My fiancee's home has a first lien with WaMu (typical 30yr fixed loan). If they go down, what happens to the lien?

Anonymous said...

FWIW, Rob I think that you're right with the Fed's primary focus being more concerned with protecting the USD and second concern being guarding against a sudden increase in inflation. Obviously no one at the Fed wants to see the economy head back into recession, but I would be shocked if they cut rates in the foreseeable future. Partly because they have other priorities and partly because any imminent recession is the result of certain economic fundamentals being out-of-whack rather than any sort of crisis born out of liquidity concerns.

Simply put, the recession that will most likely result from the collapse of RE/subprime and the concomitant impact on MBS (ie, pensions) is going to happen whether the rate is set a 5.25%, 2%, or 8%. Manipulation of interest rates may redirect the brunt of the recession to various parties, but the pain will be unavoidable.

Ogg, I don't think you have to work about the retail banking side of WaMu. Like Wells, BofA, Chase, etc. the retail side is covered. It would take a lot more than this meltdown to have a major impact on their banking side.

One thing about "helicopter" Ben Bernanke is that he's a Depression buff. I've read some of his past speeches about the macroeconomic causes of the Depression and I think it's safe to say that he's not likely to make the same mistakes that the Fed made back then.

That doesn't mean he won't make other mistakes, of course.

one other thing and you being as intelligent as you are im sure you did it. the new addition i assume you are having someone else do. be sure that there is a timeframe in writing for when it will be completed and a penalty built in for not completing on time. of course licensed, bonded, etc. A couple of my neighbors have done things(and they are very smart just maybe gullible). they did not get everything in writing. the contractor ended up taking 9 months longer to complete the project. talk about an inconvenience.

My wife's best friend's husband is a building contractor, and we generally hire him for pretty much everything we need doing - because if anything goes wrong we easily can hunt him down like a dog and shame him into fixing it.

And he has an equally strong incentive not to screw up, for the same reason.

He's expensive, but it's worth paying extra for that trust element. (The quality of his work is also superb, but that's almost a side issue)

Just admitted to using previous deals to float current deals. God, Prosecuters are fucking shitting themselves now.

ratlab said...

AHAHAHAH.

The Steven call-in guy suggested KC should watch Glengarry Glenross. Hmmm, Rio Rancho.

KC might go into precious metals investing. Steven says that makes him want to dump his precious metal investments. Goes right over KC's head.

Anonymous said...

Fuck, I can't. I'm too hammered and I'm laughing so hard right now I can't keep it straight.

How do you join the chat? I'm not familiar with Talkshoe.

Anonymous said...

Steven is on a roll. He starts out saying Casey needs to pick it up and then totally locks Casey up.

Anonymous said...

sounds like we need a "hater" transcript as well as a casey transcript.

He likes to have a package that he can bite into.

Best out of context comment so far.

Aspeth said...

Why is the guy who is encouraging Casey to 'speed it up' and not drone on doing just that....boooooring.

Why the fuck are people asking him about his fucking food preferences?!?!?! This *has* to be a stacked deck of callers....

Anonymous said...

Everybody also has to drink anytime he says an antispam word.

Anonymous said...

Sound quality is awful May not be useful for a remix. We'll see. Gawd it's boring.

Aspeth said...

LOL....just compared speeding to "stated income loans"

OMG.

Anonymous said...

I'ma drinkin'! Quick, somebody ask him about the murse.

Anonymous said...

He is gonna "wrap things up" no one wants to talk to him (shocking).

Lou Minatti said...

I only caught the last few minutes. How soon before the podcast is up?

Anonymous said...

Am I correct in assuming Snowflake's fukcast is providing plenty of material for Haterz(tm)?

ratlab said...

Ovah.

Anonymous said...

Tommorrow's IAFF post will say "Webcast a huge success!" "Good things are cumming!"

Anonymous said...

Did fliptard just end that all of a sudden or did I get dropped?

Anonymous said...

Per Talkshoe his podcast was supposed to last 120 minutes, wasn't it? What happened? More technical difficulties as usual...? I was really looking forward to the second hour.

Anonymous said...

Can't even run a podcast right. Casey, you've got to be the only beta that can't eat pussy right!

Anonymous said...

FlippingFucktard ended it, mj.

Anonymous said...

Methinks sercasey sensed that there was only hatin on the horizon and fled back to the safety of nappytime.

Anonymous said...

Snowflake got impatient after a few callers stood him up and ended the cast.

Anonymous said...

I'll be listening in if it ever stops buffering.

@ Mansack:

I'd call, but it semes like a lot of hassle given that he's most likely going to screen out any caller going by "Ogg the Caveman" as a known hater. However, for your benefit, I will give you the likely course of the conversation.

Snowflake: Next caller. What's your name, caller?
Ogg: Ogg.
Snowflake: Hmm. and what's your question?
Ogg: WHY YOU NO GET JOB?
Snowflake: ...
Ogg: *grunt* *click*

Anonymous said...

Thanks, Ogg, that made my day.

R-Boy said...

I have sent the transcript of our haterz club chat to robert.

Anonymous said...

He has foreclosed on 5 plus houses and he can only fill 30 minutes of context. Sounded like he sold the website. My experience with this has been that when you sell any business (or non-business) is that you promise to generate x amount of business or you will sustain the following business. Casey has to keep up the current blog hits and demonstrate that his blog is worth money to whoever is buying the blog. My suggestion is another boycott. It would hit him at his bottom line. No visitors, no big payout. If the buying company/person sees a downward trend, Casey doesn't get paid. Expect some completely trolling post in the future.

Anonymous said...

Fuck. That was 30 minutes of my life I'll never get back. What a load of shit.

Anonymous said...

What a letdown. And I can't believe I actually wasted nearly an hour listening to his droning voice hoping things would get really good thanks to the "hater" community.

Anonymous said...

I listened... I think much of the program was a hoax, possibly including the dropped calls... or the program may have been on a 30-second delay to give KC time to screen properly. There were some hater-like comments, but no real hate behind them. The name "Galina" was mentioned only once, and Nigel wasn't mentioned at all.

I think his "software freezing up" on him at the end was a load of B.S... that was his pre-planned "out" for when he had exhausted all of his calls.

Anonymous said...

only so 6 on the chatline and i had to lead 2 onto the chatline to listen... I feel like a used tool cause of how short it was... just like casey

Anonymous said...

Benoit™,
Are you sure there were no calls left?

Anonymous said...

eservin said...
i had to lead 2 onto the chatline to listen...

You did... big up for eservin.

I was a major talkshoe 'tard for a minute there.

Anonymous said...

Son: WTH are you listening to?

Me: Oh, just some guy who's part of the reason we still live in an apartment.

Son: Huh?

LOL I felt like an idiot for a minute there.

Anonymous said...

Akubi, it wouldn't surprise me. Over the course of an hour, he only had a small handful of potential callers, to the point that he "called on" Steven and Gordon (?) two times. I'm not going to listen again, but I think he only talked to 4 different people over the hour.

I'm guessing that at the end, he saw only the same 4 people still on the line, and decided to call it a night with the "software freeze" excuse...

The only real "juicy" nugget was the bit about CashCall's Legal Dept.

Anonymous said...

So what were tonight's nuggets? The parts about life without Starbucks wouldn't be worth living and speeding is like lying on home loans come to mind. Also, "Wait, 150k in Sacramento, or san Fran where the cost of living is higher? That's a very tempting offer." "I'll never be productive if I live in fear."

I have to admit that I'm very disappointed that Galina is going to be "working" for Casey doing taxes. I was hoping for at least Hooters employment.

R-Boy said...

even if there were no haterz from this site, they still got him good on many instances

Anonymous said...

hey he's back on talkshoe now

Anonymous said...

And then the audacity to say he won't he won't eat Top Ramen!
Listening to him, I really wonder what sort of meds he's taking (legal or illegal?). Abnormally flattened affect could suggest anti-psychotics, opiates, benzo's, etc.

Anonymous said...

Now another fliptard called in, he must have rounded up some RE buddies to call.

Now he is trying to get the fliptard to admit to getting cash back, the guy says "no comment on that"

Anonymous said...

Casey: Yes! That's what I want to hear! And mortgage brokers suck, right?
