Long & short I wanted to give Casey every opportunity to understand that he’s still breaking the law by publishing his “book” (“The CodeFixation”) and holding himself out to be a “Foreclosure Expert.” Told him to check out what I had to say with a lawyer, but of course he repeatedly denied doing anything wrong. (Lots more to the conversation, than just about the book too.)

Aspeth: Love your work, and don't want to try to sway or convince you, but in my own way of looking at it - 'Did I forget' No. 'Did I forgive and hopefully understand?' Yes.
And I frankly was remiss in long ago not joining the one or two lonely voices that insisted Nigel was NOT likely involved in RCS. I strongly suspected as much, based on Nigel's persona, but did not opine as much. Has Nigel been stiff, odd, short sighted? Sure. But the stuff on RCS was beyond the pale, and I think that even if Nigel thought it could never be traced back, he still would not be involved just on principle.
Could I be totally wrong? Sure. But I am confident I am not wrong on this point.

I think the change in attitude came from the 2nd haterzcast I called in on. Yes, I supported Casey publicly and privately for far too long. I probably would have continued to do so had he not abandoned his wife. I have a real problem with that.
The change in tone has come in part because people now see me as a real human being and no longer as some sort of character or caricature. I'm an honest person and have been sharing what I can to paint a clearer picture of what's been going on. I've protected Casey in the past when I probably shouldn't have.
Like Mark, Duane and even yourself I now think Casey needs to be stopped. I didn't consider him dangerous before, but now he's hurting real people. He's shirked all consequences to date and now I am doing my part as probably his strongest online supporter to show the world what he truly is: a deluded, selfish child that needs to grow up and face his mistakes.
I just talked to Casey, and he said he has just had a wonderful evening (time difference) out with his murse, and he found a lovely young Aussie boy who filled his mangina.

This is unrelated to the situation at hand, but I just wanted to find out if there is anybody that reads these that could maybe offer me some advice. Long story short: I am 22, own four rental properties in GA, and am two months behind on all payments. The houses have been listed for sale for months, and I have been trying to work with lenders to atleast do a deed in lieu. I do not want the houses and have been trying to get out of this situation for months. Is there anybody out there that has had multiple properties foreclosed on? My main concern is the tax implications this is going to have, and not to mention if any of the lenders try to get deficiency judgements on me. I’ve been trying to look at this site for advice and help and haven’t found any. I worked my butt off for 4 yrs for an engineering degree, graduated last yr, and have a good paying job. I got into RE and got lied to by a lot of ppl, but i take full responsiblity and am just trying move on with my life. FWIW, here's my take on Nigel. Despite his recent epiphany, I still don't care very much for Nigel and I don't trust him. It seems to me that Nigel (like all of us) is primarily concerned with promoting his professional ambitions. For over half a year, he sought to do that on Casey's coat-tails. He's not evil or whatever, just concerned primarily with furthering his own interests.
Recently, it seems to me that he belatedly realized that his affiliation with Casey (and other activities) constituted a strategic mistake, and he's attempted to ingratiate himself by sharing a behind-the-scenes look at some of Casey's dirty laundry. To the extent that this information helps complete the picture, I am grateful. As for the rest of Nigel's shtick: I think he's dead-wrong on the immediate future of real estate, but beyond objection to the substance I find the style of nearly all his blog entries to be stale and unengaging. When he runs out of anecdotes to share about Casey, I doubt very much that I (or most other people) will visit his blog(s).
As long as he has something interesting to add about his experience in the Casey saga, he's got my attention (as well as skepticism). I don't like a lot of people personally that I find interesting or useful. So anyway, that's my two cents on Nigel. YMMV.
