Future David Crisps

Where will they be in 2 years. You see it was a mere 2 years ago, Jun 2005 that the very same Realtor magazine named David Crisp one of their 30 realtors under 30. Today? Multiple NODs and a crumbling empire. Bakersfield Bubble is the place to go to track the Crisp & Cole Realtor Version of Casey. The article is here.

First!

(or is this game over now that the blog is gone?)

NO MORE FIRSTS

Firsts are okay but you have to say something about the subject.

One of the 30 under 30 is Tyler Lund who works with mom and dad (I think) in Carlsbad. Hopefully "Jim" will chime in with some first hand color.

OK...I read through a number of the bios and one common thread is how much they've done helping investors. In the markets these clowns are located.....anybody would make money in the last few years.

Fast forward a year and see how many of the Fab30 are still in real estate...and aren't broke.

The one thing people don't get is it's not how much you make....it's how much of it you keep.

"Fast forward a year and see how many of the Fab30 are still in real estate...and aren't broke."

Particularly since this type of real estate clerk tends to drink their own Kool-Aid and buy lots of "investment" properties for themselves...

It's simple. They are going to get on the next bandwagon trend out there that requires minimal knowledge and more pump & dump skills that they were honing to perfection.

Think solar cells, ethanol, perpetual motion machines, hair plugs, etc etc.

Since the US produces and exports so much BS as a % of GNP there should be lots of opportunities out there.

Big Cheese

PS- this is only a HALF sarcastic post.

Selling 10 Million in Arizona isn't anything to run home about. Now the dude who sold 10M in Brainard, MN that's work.

I'd like to see their 2007 results.

Regarding Uzbecki Durak's comment that "...this type of real estate clerk tends to drink their own Kool-Aid and buy lots of "investment" properties for themselves..."

Yes, the Real Estate Bloviators™ would do well to observe the drug dealers' credo "Don't get high on your own supply".

Hey, Big cheese, pray tell. What is wrong with solar cells???

Anonymous said...

Solar Cells are wonderful, but expensive. It currently requires large government subsidies to get anyone to buy them

Anonymous said...

FMW,

Actually nothing is wrong with solar cells- in fact I advocated them in another thread last week. They are worth checking out although the issue of total lifetime and the calculation of net energy returned / net energy used to manufacture isn't the best payback compared to wind (ignoring the NIMBY people).

But the point of my previous comment is that whatever becomes faddish is what these ppl will next jump on. I feel that solar power is going that way- take a look at the major solar cell startups stock price over the past 6-7 months (first solar, etc - almost worked for them, heh) and you will see 200% + gains.

Make sense?

I would recommend reading the David Crisp article. Why would such a "local RE power player" want to buy so many homes, when he was so successful selling properties with his realty? If he was making so much on commissions, why buy all these properties at 100% financing? Wouldn't some of that profit be better invested in stocks or a REIT than it would be owning RE directly?

He is basically Casey Serin with some on the surface success (the Armani suits, mansion, business, etc). In the end, his empire is a mirage. There have been other allegations made in the comments section (encouraging agents to become strawbuyers for homes he was buying, he promised to make the payments and give them a take of the profits he would make from flipping, of course those homes are in foreclosure now). If true along with his own mortgage fraud, he should be in the hole for quite a while. If the authorities won't go after Casey because of insolvency, they should at least go after this guy.

I double damn gaurantee that every single one of them has a highly leveraged, cashflow negative, investment property with the absolutely lowest monthly payment exotic finacing investment property in their name. They've had agressive mortgage brokers on speed dial for years and every time they came near a reset they just got a new refi at insider terms.

Just wait til they call this time. Hungry mortgage brokers who haven't been getting any business and tighter requirements and the real estater hasn't closed half their previous volume. They won't be able to get them a new loan. Brick wall.

@ Big Cheese,
I too am in the solar business, an have my eye on 'green tech" and alternative energy as the next 'bubble'.
SO, yes, makes sense to me, a fellow solar bull.

Now that's just weird. A lot of people suddenly seem to be battening down the hatches out there...

It's amazing how many real estate experts popped out of the woodwork these last few years. Same type of people who would spout "Hot Tip, Hot Tip" during the dotcom boom.

Even these "experts" could hold up their own businesses when the bubble pops. So much for their smart and swift business ability.

Back to Walgreens and the banking teller positions for these azzholes.

My bad..but it's all good!

Solar is getting real close. Another 30% price drop or a few more percent efficiency and things will be fine. Energy demand has become fungible and cheaper solar will take the pressure off natgas and petro.

The wizbang jetpack futre tech that is quietly advancing is RTSC, room temperature superconduction. Do that and electricy itself gets too cheap to worry about. Then water is no longer an issue and we all get helicopters in the garage. ;-)

When I worked at Heritage Plaza Mortgage in Stockton, the Account Executives in our Concord office were bring in $20-$30k a month in commission! You didn't have to be smart to do it either!!

It's really funny to see 20-something kids pull up to the head office in a brand new Mercedes E320 or a BMW 550 sedans.

Made me want to quit my IT job and become an agent.

Thank God, I stuck with IT though! The money is consistently coming in my bank account.

That's our Casey!

@ 8:59 big cheese

You left off the motherlode of up and coming fraud.....Carbon Offsets. Zero regulation and all sorts of peer pressure to go "carbon neutral". There is a company based here in Vermont that is privately held and releases no financials. They won't even say what percentage of the money goes to actual Carbon Offsets and how much they pocket! People are giving them money hand over fist to feel better about their lifes. Reminds of the good old days of the Catholic Church and the selling of indulgences.... Pay us some cash and then sin all you want!

Anonymous said...

Wow.

I wonder if Serin will continue to update the "Down" page daily. He just can't stop "blogging", can he?

Everybody: I'm very sorry to end like this. I wish I could say more, but it all came down to choosing between my wife and this blog. It feels like in order to keep the marriage I had to kill my 9 month old baby who was just beginning to walk and talk (meaning the blog producing full-time income). He can not stay off for 5 minutes!

Its hard to hate Casey. I know he is a criminal, but he is clearly mentally ill. He will be divorced pretty soon and will be blogging from a wireless connection in his car.

I wonder if the drugs he will eventually take to help with the mental issues will also help the ethical ones.

"I wish I could say more, but it all came down to choosing between my wife and the blog. As much as I hated and resented having to make this choice..."

I give the marriage three more months. Casey is just going to resentfully seethe - he was finally monetizing the blog, Good Things were about to come, and then that suka Galina screwed it up just as things were about to pay off - so he could be forced into the type of W-2 job that you have to take when you can't pass a credit check or a Google search.

We should start a pool on when IAFF relaunches...

Anonymous said...

My guess for the cause of the Casey shut down, They finally got the bill for the 10K + Casey has spent on the corporate credit in one month and Galina found the bill

Now YET ANOTHER new "exit page". This one talking about having to kill his 9 month old baby (blog).

Anonymous said...

In the IAFF pool, can I claim June 07?

Anonymous said...

I take back what I said about Casey's exit being classy, since now he had to go ahead and add disparaging info about his wife.

Now that the contract is over with he feels he can go ahead and mention her again. That kind of proves he doesn't really care about her wishes. I really hope she reads the exit page.

Yet another change. Forget the date, he needs to time stamp this thing

Simply can't control himself... testing the bounds to see what he can get away with:

Now that Casey Serin is no longer the punching bag we all grew to love.

May I humbly suggest a new focus for the Haterz talents.
