VenCo Star:
The Ormond Beach smelter spewed corrosive brew for decades as owners beat back efforts by regulators and neighbors to make them stop. As officials with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency consider including the bankrupt metals recycling plant on a list of hazardous Superfund cleanup sites, some of those people are looking back at the years of seeming inaction and wondering what took so long.
and the same problem but different story:
The Ventura County Fire Department is investigating whether it withheld public documents in violation of state law to cover up its record on a Moorpark manufacturing plant that played a role in the devastating Shekell wildfire.
Isn't this just everything confirming the lowest expectations of our government?
Update: Great Salt Lake drained for land development, mutant algae fed "Sun Koi" discovered!
Update 2: Caution do not expose "Sun Koi" directly to the sun.

FIRSTwhore.....you looser
Land use matters because they aren't making any more land. And this is why you must buy now or be forever priced out of home ownership. For more detail, see Nigel's 247 part plagiarism example, slcrealestate.blogspot.com.
....especially in Utah. It is maxed out on available land. Nigel sez, in 2759 days, SLC will surpass SF in all aspects of housing. I am in awe of his genius and want to be just like him when I grow up.
Isn't there some sort of big lake in Utah? Maybe they can drain that if they are out of land. Are there any Koi in the lake ?
Nigel's house, pool and complex are ginormous. Subdivided, it could house 100 families. (and feed them too - if they like koi)
Are there any Koi in the lake ?
There used to be, but somebody left the sun on and the algae killed them.
bah, forget nigel...
send in a charity suing forest ranger to mitigate your losses...
... he may work pro bono if he thinks it improves his chances of "bonoing" some Baptist Uzbek tail.
Rob, growing up I believed our government worked for us. Was honest with us. Cared about us. This looks like another example that contradicts my earlier beliefs.
The more local the politics, the more corrupt it is.
We all tend to focus on the national scene, but your Board of Supervisors has more impact on your life than the POTUS.
We've got Sun Koi!....that's a type of fish. Sun Koi are so named because they look like the sun, which produces algae.
"Sun Koi." If you lick them your hair grows back but curly.
That is one ugly fish.
Look into the Sun Koi's eyes....remind you of a nationally recognized SLC blogger?
That Koi, a type of fish, looks like it weighs 2,759g
When frightened, it discharges a sticky liquid which some have associated with the smell of Axe. In addition, the scales have a pleathery texture.
Could this be for real - it actually links back to the real FBI website:

CASEY,
PLEASE BE IN OUR OFFICE IN SACRAMENTO ON MONDAY.
"What profiteth a man if he gain the whole world but lose his own soul? (Mark 8:36)" - DHC 6/9/07
"Yea, though I lie downeth with the link whores. Thy national recognition shalt overcome my wretched searches. Though my comment cup runneth empty and my hairline recedeth; He who bloggeth shall be awardeth. (Nigel 3:16)"
@ uh oh
"Could this be for real"
Probably. The FBI rarely issues subpoenas anymore. Nowadays they usually notify felons via blog comments or myspace messages.
@ Rob
The possibility that Nigel has been licking the psychedelic hair-giving Sun Koi goes a long way towards explaining his take on the housing bubble.
"Oh wow, man, look at all the houses, they're flying off the shelves... the shelves are flying too...whoa"
Nah if it was I would know about it
Did you know that Koi eat algae ?
From Wikipedia:
In the winter their digestive system slows nearly to a halt, and they eat very little, perhaps no more than nibbles of algae from the bottom.
Are you saying someone can post something untrue on a blog???

Whoa, slide over there bunkmate we need to talk!
Is this “publisher” going to admit:
1) That he’s nothing more than a “marketing man?”
2) The he bluffed you into bringing back the blog, with a FedEx letter?
3) That he CAN’T “force” (compel) your performance under California law?
(Civ.Code §§3391/3392/3423(e); CCP §526(b)(5); Woolley vs. Embassy Suites,
Inc. 1991; Barndt vs. County of Los Angeles, 1989; Beverly Glen Music, Inc.
vs. Warner Communications, Inc., 1986; Motown Rc. Corp. vs. Brockert, 1984)
4) That your “BOOK” is a vanity publication?
5) That “The Other” didn’t give you permission to write a book?
6) That “Ghee” is about to file for legal separation, because this bull?
7) That you and I have a special date real soon???
Hurry up and answer, Flipperboy! The “dudes” and I are waiting!!!
Yours Truly,

I saw the whole entire FBI at Target the other day buying a pepper mill. So, it's not like they don't get around.
I heard they are making a sequel to 300 -- called 2759.
Instead of Xerces. we have Swaby, clad in pleather.
In a climatic scene, Swaby screams to the Haterz, "Our koi will block out the sun".
to which the haterz reply "Then we will shall hate in the shade".
Supposedly there is a scene where Nigel puts his hand tenderly on the shoulder of the haterz leader. And whispers "All I ask is that you kneel before me". Since this is a family blog, I cannot spell out what exactly Nigel is asking for.
@2:24 PM, Uh-Oh:
Sure it's real. I can email you all the details if you wish but, due to the sensitive nature of this case, I need to verify your identity.
If you will simply email me your Social Security number and a Credit Card or checking account number I will send you all the details.
Thanks,

I wonder if the problem of illegal Koi needs the attention of the FBI
Because of the danger to the environment koi possession is illegal in many parts of America, South America and Australia.
7) That you and I have a special date real soon?
Wow, first time I've heard the prospect of a "special date" spoken aloud. I'm surprised Casey let this one through. I won't be surprised to see it disappear shortly.
Look, at this point there's a hundred or so people who could throw Casey into involuntary bankruptcy for the cost of the filing fee. That happens and all hope of avoiding jail is gone. Those hundred or so are going to each insist they be put at the front of the the line because thay can "demonstrate" fraud. The judge likes nice tidy BKs. He ain't gonna like this one.
Uh-Oh said...
Could this be for real - it actually links back to the real FBI website
I bet it's real - nobody except the FBI would know how to type "www.fbi.gov" into an empty and unvalidated field in a blog.
Signed,
George Bush
Casey's publisher is a vanity press and he is using the remaining funds from his corporation to pay for it. Dats what I tink.
Someday we should all stop carping on the koi (It's a kind of fish) thing.
